Lot 3392 EASTERN EUROPEAN OR MEDITERRANEAN FLINTLOCK
PISTOL. Cal. 60 Smoothbore. NSN. Bbl. 9 7/8". Unmarked flintlock pistol, likely of Eastern European or Mediterranean origin. Iron lock, lockplate, and bbl. Top of breech area exhibits flush surface level silver colored embellishments. 1-piece plain wood stock with brass sideplate, pommel cap, and trigger guard. Rear of wrist exhibits raised brass ornamentation. CONDITION: iron components have faded to a gray/brown patina, exhibiting scattered spots of light pitting. Brass furniture has acquired a mellow patina. Upper section of brass wrist ornamentation is absent, with apparent filing also being absent. Proper manual mechanics, with the hammer holding at half-cock. Stock shows scattered marks and impressions from handling and storage, but otherwise remains sound. (01-29110/MLW). ANTIQUE. $400-600.
